MRS. ALVIRA DAVIS
Ocean Springs, Miss., June 14-
Mrs Alvira Ann Davis died today at the age of 79 years. The deceased was born and raised and lived her life 'in the State of Mississippi.' She married Mr. Samuel Davis in 1839. To this union were born eleven children, eight of whom are living. Her husband preceded her twenty-two years ago at the age of 76. Ten years ago she suffered her first stroke of paralysis, since which time she has been the loving member of her children's homes. Three years ago she suffered another stroke, leaving her as helpless as a child to the time of her death.
She was a member of the Baptist church for fifty-two years.
Owing to the illness of our reporter this column don't show as much local news as usual.
