Funeral services for Carl Eugene Beck, 61, of Wilson will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Alexander Funeral Home Chapel in Wilson with Larry Jackson officiating. Interment will be at Crow Cemetery in Love County.

Carl was born May 9, 1948, in Frutia, Colo., to Mr. Wesley James Beck and Mrs. Opal Mildred (Wilkinson) Beck. He departed this life Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at his residence in Wilson.

Carl was raised in Canadian, Texas, where he resided until he entered the United States Army on Feb. 14, 1963, serving honorably until his discharge from the United States Army Reserve on Feb. 13, 1973, moving back to Canadian, Texas. Carl followed the oilfield work until he moved to Wilson in 1982.

He also worked for the city of Wilson. He and the former Ms. Lida Mae Cox were married June 23, 1999, in Wilson. Carl loved mowing, gardening and woodworking. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Emmitt Beck.

Survivors include his wife, Lida Mae Beck of the home in Wilson; daughter, Wendy Beck and Mark Thompson of McKinney, Texas; sons, Wesley Beck and wife Jennifer and Patrick Beck and wife Chastity all of Bowie, Texas; stepson, Randy Pierce and wife Shanaci of Wilson; sisters, Pat Guffy of Enid and Francis Flowers of Pampa, Texas; brothers, Bill Beck of Locust Grove and Dean Beck of Stinnett, Texas; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Beck, Patrick Beck, Rowdy Brumley, Mark Thompson, Darrell Farrell, Wendy Beck and Truman Beck. Honorary bearer is Randy Pierce.

Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home in Wilson.
