ALBRECHT, Emanuel (Jake) - Of Conestoga Crest, Drayton and formerly of Palmerston, passed away, peacefully, at Palmerston Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, on Wednesday, July 16, 2003, in his 86th year. He was born on January 16, 1918 in Mornington township, son of the late Jacob and Magdalena (Steinman) Albrecht. Beloved husband of Laurene Albrecht (nee Schultz) for 63 years; dear father of Ruth Ann and Duane Wharram of RR 1, Gowanstown, Kenneth and Gwen Albrecht of New Hamburg, Leonard and Lynette Albrecht of RR 2, Moorefield, Laurie and Ron Yungblut of RR 2, Palmerston, Janet and Robert Richmond of RR 1, New Dundee and Mary Lou and Elgin Shantz of Waterloo. Predeceased by one son, Donald (Reb) Albrecht (1989) and his wife Jean (2000). Fondly remembered by 18 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Loving brother of Clara Schlegel of Kitchener, Lena and Robert Shantz of New Hamburg, Harry and Lucille of Kitchener, George and Edith of London, Ervin and Marjorie, Eileen and Gordon Woolner and Armand and Elenore, all of Kitchener. Predeceased by two sisters, Selina Boshart and her husband Enos, Verna Seimon and her husband Carl; one brother, Lorne and his wife Emma and one brother-in-law, Alvin Schlegel, as well as five half-sisters and two half-brothers. The family received friends at the Community Mennonite Fellowship Church, Drayton on Friday, July 18, 2003 from 7-9 p.m. and will receive friends on Saturday, July 19, 2003 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where Rev. Willard Metzger and Pastor Ron Weber will conduct the Funeral Service in the Community Mennonite Fellowship Church, Drayton, on Sunday, July 20, 2003 at 3 p.m. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematorium, Waterloo, followed by a private family graveside Service and Interment of Cremated Remains in Palmerston Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Palmerston Hospital Foundation, Community Mennonite Fellowship (Drayton) or Christian Peacemakers Team would be appreciated by the family.Arrangements entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home, Drayton.
