He was born to Ada Louise Lackey and Samuel Wesley Foust in Millboro in Randolph County. He had lived in Greensboro for over 30 years. He worked for Cone Mills at the White Oak Plant.
He was preceeded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife Mary Messer Foust; a son Lonnie Kyle Foust; five daughters Mrs. Ethel Smith, Mrs. Joesy Honeycutt, Mrs Geraldine Doggett, Mrs Jeannette Lewis and Mrs. Jenelle Glass all of Greensboro; a stepson James Hodges of Greensboro; three step daughters Mrs. Isabelle Arrington of Greensboro, Mrs. Lula Garner of Rhode Island, and Mrs. Lena Welch of Greensboro; four brothers James U. Foust of Goldston, Lacy Kyle, Theodore Newton and William Herb all of Greensboro; four sisters Helen Leonard Collins and husband Sidney of Greensboro, Lena Collins and husband William Sterling, Celia Foust Jones and husband Otis Thomas, and Ruby Foust Hale and husband Jack of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and 14 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be help at Brightwood Baptist Church, where he was a member, at 4:00 pm Monday Officiating will be the pastor, Rev H. P. Gauldin. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park (bio by Bobbi Cecil)
