Joanne Marie Streicher was born in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Mae Streicher. She was the youngest of 4 children. Joan graduated from Warren Township High School in Gurnee, Illinois in 1952. She married Robert Brainard, June 3, 1961 in Waukegan, Illinois. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, her sons Robert S. Brainard of Battle Creek, and Henry E. (Robin) Brainard of Brighton, TN.; one daughter, Donna M. (Chris) Hutchison of Battle Creek; two brothers, James (Gloria) Streicher of Gages Lake, IL., and Robert (Joan) Streicher of Lake Villa, IL.; and her dog Shorty. She is predeceased by her parents, her daughter, Kim Marie Brainard, and one sister, Doloris M. (Thomas) Nadelhoffer. As per her wishes, she was cremated, for burial at a later date.
