Robert Scott Brainard, 58, passed away at Advantage Living Care on August 16th, after an 8 month battle with liver disease. Bob was the first child born to Robert V. and Joanne M. Brainard on May 21, 1962 in Prince George Co., Maryland. The family moved to Battle Creek in 1963 where 3 other siblings were born later. Bob was a 1980 graduate of Battle Creek Central and went on to cook at various restaurants as well as worked as a courier driver for DHL. Bob enjoyed watching NASCAR and sports in general, and bowled for many years in leagues in Battle Creek and Marshall and at one point bowled a perfect 300 game.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and also his 10 year old sister Kim in 1976. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Robin Brainard of Tiptonville TN; sister and brother-in-law Donna and Gary (Chris) Hutchison of Battle Creek; nephew Torrey Hutchison and wife Katrina of Bloomington, MN; and niece Lyndsay Simpson and her sons Jace, Wyatt, and Tyler of Russellville, AR.
