WAYNESBORO — Mrs. Mary (Kagey) Phillips Garber, 80, wife of the Rev. Frank Y. Garber of Rt. 1, Waynesboro, died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 26, 1976) at Kings Daughters' Hospital. She had been in ill health for the past three years and had been in a nursing home for the past two years.

A daughter of Francis and Dora Alice (Good) Kagey, she was born on May 18, 1896 in Shenandoah County. In 1915 she was graduated from Bridgewater College and attended the State Normal School, which is now Madison College. She was a member of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren and was a former member of the New Hope Home Demonstration Cub.

She was twice married. On Nov. 25, 1920, she married Victor A. Phillips, who died on Jan. 22, 1962. On Nov. 28, 1969, she married the Rev. Frank Y. Garber, who survives.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Mrs. Frene Rowland of McVeytown, Pa., Harper K. Phillips of Rt. 1, Waynesboro, and Mrs. Mary Alice Womble of Bridgewater; 11 grandchildren; one step-son, Marvin
L. Garber of Rt. 1, Waynesboro; three step-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday in Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren by the Revs. Clarence M. Moyers and R. Thomas Fralin Jr. Burial will be in the adjacent cemetery.

The body is at Lindsey and Koontz Funeral Home at Weyers Cave where the family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight.

The body will be taken to the church to remain for an hour prior to the service, but the casket will not be opened in the church.

Pallbearers will be Rufus R. Cline, Ray Y. Coffman, Rufus O. and John C. Driver, Harold C. Furr, G. S. Falls, Joe Humbert and F. K Strickler.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Women's Fellowship of Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren, the New Hope Home Extension Club and the Sunshine Workers Sunday School Class of Middle River Church of the Brethren.
