Mr. G. W. Cooley, one of the old and substantial citizens of the Smiley section, died yesterday evening at 4:00 o'clock at his home near Smiley. He was nearly 80 years of age, and had been a resident of that section about 25 years, having moved to this state from George. He was a most excellent citizen, and an honorable Christian gentleman full of kindness and generous impulses. A host of friends will sympathize with the bereaved relatives in his death. His remains will be interred today in the Smiley cemetery.
