MRS. ALEX CAMERON DIES AT GROUT HOME

Mrs. Alex Cameron died at her home in Grout township Friday, August 10, after an illness of eleven days. Alice Strevel was born February 22, 1864, in St. Clair county and was married November 25, 1883 to Alexander Cameron. To this union were born 14 children, all living, except one son, John, who preceded her in death in January, 1909. In September, 1901 they moved to Gladwin county and settled on a farm in Grout township, where they cleared a farm of 160 acres from the virgin timber.
Funeral services were held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Sacred Heart church with a Requiem High Mass. Rev. Fr. Baumann officiating. Burial was in Highland cemetery. Left to mourn are her husband and 13 children; Mrs. Agnes Raymond, Chicago; Mrs. Alice Flynn, Flint; Archie, Angus, George, Leo, Edmund, Alex, Jr., Floyd and William, Gladwin; Thomas, Yale; Joseph and Dan at home; three brothers: Charles Strevel, Yale; Wm. Strevel, Duluth, Minn.; and George Strevel, Duluth, Minn.; 46 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren.
