Roy Gabe McCulloch, Pemiscot county farmer for the past 25 years, died suddenly at his home on Route U near this city early Monday morning, supposedly of a heart attack. Mr. McCulloch was active up to the time of his death, which came as a shock to the family and his many friends in the community.
He was born January 29, 1900, at Beach Bluff, Tenn., the son of Mrs. Emma McCulloch and the late William McCulloch, and was aged 52 years, 10 months and 9 days. He moved to Caruthersville about 25 years ago and was a member of the Methodist church here.
On June 8, 1935, in this city, he was married to Miss Hazel Shinabery, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Roy Gabe McCulloch Jr and two daughters Mary Nell and Kay Frances McCulloch, all of the home; his mother, Mrs. Emma McCulloch of this city; four brothers, Ray of Bertrand, Silas of Lilbourn, Paul of Matthews, Mo. and Bob McCulloch of this city; also two sisters, Mrs. Jesse Watkins of Braggadocio and Mrs. Willie Jane Estes of Hayti.
Funeral services were held at Eastwood Memorial Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon and were conducted by the Rev. Floyd V. Brower and the Rev. James M. Blanton. Burial was in Maple Cemetery with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service.
