Benny Leonard Crawford, age 87, of Waycross, Georgia passed away on January 5, 2024, at the Satilla Hospice House in Waycross, Georgia, after struggling with illnesses for the last few years.

A native of the Ruskin area of Ware County, Georgia and a son to the late Toomer and Alma Crawford;; also preceded in death by his middle daughter Pamela Crawford; grandchild Caleb Tyre;
and siblings: Hazel Tatum, Hilton Crawford, Boyce Crawford, Laverne Herrin, Faye Butler, and Keith Crawford.

Mr. Crawford nourished those around him with unconditional love, compassion and faith.
He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard Reserve.
He retired from CSX on July 31, 1998, where he worked as a painter for forty-two (42) years and five (5) months.
More importantly, Mr. Crawford exemplified Christ, daily, in his life where he took great pride in sharing his faith and the message of salvation with others, serving as the best husband and father he could be, and working tirelessly to improve the lives of his friends, his community and his church.
Mr. Crawford was a devoted and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Waycross, Georgia, since 1960 where he, at times, led the singing, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School for both the youth and men's classes, and proudly served as a church deacon.

He is survived by his wife, Pansy Crawford of Waycross;
daughters: Dale Collins-Young (Melvin) of Douglas, and Tammie Tyre (Jim) of Waycross;
grandchildren: Bradley Collins (Danielle) of Waycross and Colbi Sellers (Jamey) of Waycross;

Mr. Crawford enjoyed all things related to quail hunting and fishing, especially eating fried fish and quail. He cherished time visiting, talking with, and encouraging others. Mr. Crawford will be most remembered for being a follower of Jesus Christ, a faithful member to his church, a devoted husband, father, Papa and brother, a hard-working provider for his family, and a loving and joyful man to those around him.
