Mrs. Lorene (Conn) Cummings, 89, died at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in Scott nursing home, Lafayette. The body was brought to the Hershman & Weston Funeral Home where funeral services were held at two o'clock Tuesday afternoon and burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

The obituary that was read at the funeral services was as follows:

Lorene M. Conn Cummings, youngest daughter of Nelson and Amanda (Blankenbaker) Conn was born near Solon, Clark County, Indiana March 4, 1865.

Early in life she joined the Baptist church later becoming associated with the Methodists. A nurse by training she held responsible positions in hospitals in Oklahoma and other western states.

In 1929 she was married to a Mr. Cummings of Port Angeles, Washington. In 1931 she returned to the Brook community and spent her last years in Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by ten sisters and three brothers, being the last of a generation which extended through considerably more than a century.
