Mr. George Conn united with the Methodist church, under the ministry of Rev. Aaron Wood. As the oldest son of so large a family, he lived with his widowed mother helping to care for the home and doing all that lay in his power to make her comfortable.
He united in marriage with Miss Eliza Merchant, September 29th, 1881. To this untion seven children were born, two of whom died in infancy. His wife Mrs. Eliza Conn and five children survive their father, Charles, Nelson, Nellie, Ida and Chester. They all reside in this Community. There are also eight grandchildren and two brothers, Thomas Conn of Monticello, Indiana, Samuel of Brook. There are seven sisters living: Susan P. Lowe, Rensselaer, Mary Sandilands, Whitting, Rhoda Hess, Hastings, Neb., Julia McCabe, Brook, Mettle Steele, Kentland, Lucy Kockel, Bentley, North Dakota, Lorene Conn, Elkhart, Kansas.
He died at the family residence one mile west of town on Sunday evening, June 14th, 1925, age 71 years, 9 months and 14 days. He was greatly loved and respected by his family and held in high esteem as a neighbor and friend.
