She was born to Thomas Ford and Isabelle Cook on March 10, 1907 in Centerville, Utah. She was married to Rueben Anson Call on May 28, 1930 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Luella and her companion Rueben raised their family of six children on a farm in Bountiful, Utah. Working in her garden was a special part of her life where she became acquainted with many life long friends who returned regularly to visit and buy her produce. She was active in the LDS Church where she served in the Primary organization. She is still fondly remembered by those she taught. For many years her work in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temple was a very important part of her life.
