She was born to the Reverend William Harley Miller and Nancy Ann Rowan Miller. She married Marmaduke McQuerry in Mercer County, Missouri on February 26,1888. Eva and Duke were parents of three children: Ida May, Samuel Ellis, and Ina Asberine. Eva died July 13, 1895, near Modena, Mercer County, Missouri. She is buried in the Hamilton Cemetery a few miles west of Modena,

NOTE: Eva's exact birth date is not known nor has place of birth been confirmed. Parents were living in Ray County, MO for the 1870 census taken July 14, 1870, at which time Eva's age is shown as 6/12. Going by the census she could have been born 1870. Her gravestone shows she died July 13, 1895, aged 26y 8m, which would calculate a birth date of November 13, 1868. Eva was the first child and although her parents were in Ray County, MO for 1870 census does not mean she was born there, as were some of her siblings.

It is believed that Eva was given the middle name of "Young" to distinguish her from her aunt Eva Jane Miller Hamilton and her great aunt Eva Miller Snyder. No proof the name "Jane" was ever part of her name. However, in the 1880 census she is listed as E.J., and her aunt was named Eva Jane; so it is likely "Jane" is part of her name.
