Biography:
"John Johnson and Esther O. Pearce came to Ohio. Esther was a baby.
John Johnson came at age 4, with his parents and sibblings, Joshua Joseph Johnson & Experience 'Eve' Tibbals Johnson.
Esther O. Pearce with her Parents that was nit listed in her bible but many have researched and could only come up with a possible match of, Daniel Pearce and Hannah Morgan
( this could change if a document that verifys her actual parents names, does come up in the future. Daniel is speculated as her father, due to two photos that are found in her family bible. One of Betsey Pierce Nichols wearing a war time dress, and a photo of George Washington Pierce, dressed in a very nice suit. Both photos came to me from my Aunt who was given her family bible. These same photos have been shared and have since been shared all over the internet, some with inaccurate information added.
Hannah Pearce is used due to the book ' History of Lorain Ohio" mentioning the members of the Baptist Church. From records of Esther, who is my direct G Great Grandmother, she belonged to a Methodist Church, in both Ohio and Kansas. This was verified to my from my Grandpa Burton Johnson and my Dad, Harvey G. Johnson.
John & Esther married in Lagrange, Loraine, Ohio, 21st of May 1842
To this union 9 children were born, that are written in her family bible in a beautiful english script used of that time. Their sons, Elisha Demmington, William Demetrius " aka Mead" David Robert, Orrin Freadrick and Everett Pearce, served in the wars ( see in their individual memorials) John Wesley and Franklin Corines " pronounced Cyrenis" drove cattle across Texas, Montana, worked as ferrymen, as constablee, and town pisitions and later took up land to farm. Two daughters Eve P. & Milla O. died before age 5 from diphtheria and Pneumonia. The family lived in Ohio until 1863 when they moved to Illinois obtaining land, and continued to farm successfully. John and Esther wanted their children to have a good life, clothing, food, love and an education. Lands were being opened up and it took much labor and time to farm a land,
Then in 1873, John & Esther heard of old Indian Territorial land up around Sumner Co., Kansas that could be purchased, so while Esther packed up, John and his five sons went to Kansas, where he obtained and took up land on the Cherokee strip. They returned to get Esther and Mary Ann. They farmed a nice piece of Land where both John and Esther and their family, became a well known and respected family, among the County. Their children grew up, traveld and worked, married, David died a few days before the end of the Civil War, Ernest, Mary and Everett stayed near home, lived and worked in Kansas. Esther passed away in 1890, Sumner Kansas and is buried in what was called Mercer Cemetery ( now Hope Cemetery)

John passed away at a ripe old age of 96 in 1916, Ar-Kansas City, Cowley Co. Kansas from diabetes, blind in one eye, The info., added to the backside of Esthers stone, states 1920.
