Herman was a son of Henry Hendricks and Anna Kiewiet.
He married Alice C. Satree 3 February 1941 in Lyman County, SD.


Herman A Hendricks was born to Henry and Anna Kiewiet Hendricks Dec. 27, 1895 in Emden, Germany. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Emden. In 1904, he came to the US with his family be steamship.

In 1917, Herman arrived in the Vivian area to work for Bert Leggett. On Feb. 3, 1941, he was united in marriage to Alice Satree. To this union 4 children were born.

Herman served his community as a local school board member. He was on the board of directors of the Vivian State Bank 27 years. He was a member of the original board of directors for West Central Electric. For many years he was a Mason, Shriner and member of the Izaac Walton League. Herman also worked with a group of men to bring the first television station to this area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
