Evelyn Simmons, 92, of Vernon (TX), died Wednesday, July 18, 2007, in Wichita Falls (TX).
A Wilbarger County (TX) resident for most of her life, she and her husband were co-owners of Barnes Appliance Company for many years. She retired in 1988 from the Vernon Center South education department. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and served as director of education and former superintendent of the youth division. She was also a member of the Lydia Sunday School Class and the Wilbarger General Hospital Auxiliary.
