James Elmer Ramsey, a native of Lincoln County, died last Wednesday night in a Lewisburg nursing home following a long illness. He was 80 years old. His wife, the former Edna Barnes. survives.

Funeral services were conducted Friday at Ralston Chapel in Fayetteville, with the Rev. Edwin Moore officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery.

Mr. Ramsey, a farmer, was a steward of Beech Grove Methodist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include three daughters, Mrs. Joe Hamilton, of Fayetteville, Mrs. Fred Pickerling, of Petersburg, and Mrs. Damon Simmons, of Vernon, Texas; a son, Woodrow Ramsey, of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
