Anna Hoffman was born to parents, Henry Julius Hoffman and Arleva Haynes in a small town, Useful, Missouri. This town is in Osage County. She was one of seven children, and despite being from a large family, she never had children of her own. She was married twice; first to Joseph Dockum, and later, to Rayfield Brandriff.

First husband, Joseph Dockum married Anna in 1911 in Linn, MO. and within a short amount of time, he abandoned her, per article in Bland Courier.

Later, in July 1913, he files for divorce in Marion County, OH, case 13792.

In 1918, there was an article in the paper, that Joseph W. Dockum was the first person to die of influenza at the emergency hospital His parents were Rev. and Mrs. H. Dockum of Onida, South Dakota.

Anna's second husband, Rayfield Brandriff was a furrier.

She died Nov. 10, 1973 and is buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis County. She was close to her two nieces, Ruth and Cleo, and may have lived with them towards the end of her life.
Her funeral was arranged by Drehmann-Harrall Chapel on Monday, Nov. 12, 1973. Her obituary appeared in the St. Louis Post Dispatch on Saturday, Nov. 10, 1973.
