The following is from the funeral memorial pamphlet for Raleigh:

"Raleigh was born on a farm north of Colman on April 15, 1899 to Walter and Harriet Rowe Bothwell. When he was two years old he moved with his family to Wessington, S.D. where he grew to manhood. He was married August 12, 1921 at Huron to Lillian Patridge. In 1934 they returned to a farm north of Colman where he farmed until retiring in 1961. They have wintered for the past 27 years in Mesa, Ariz. In March of 1986 they moved to Flandreau. He was a member of the Jefferson Township Board, the Wellman School board, the Hand County Township Board and School Board and the Colman Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian, Flandreau; two daughters, Elaine, Mrs. Eldon Poppe, Volga and Bonnie, Mrs. Roger Davis, Ankeny, Ia.; three sons, Robert, Wallace and Richard, all of Colman; 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. he was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Betty, one grandson, four sisters and three brothers."
