Lillian was born May 26, 1903 on a farm in Hand County, near Wessington, SD to Herbert and Nellie Rowen Patridge. She started her education in rural Hand County school and completed her education at Wessington. She married Raleigh W. Bothwell at Huron on August 12, 1921. They farmed in Hand County until the fall of 1934 when they moved to farm in Moody County near Colman where they farmed until retiring in 1961. In March of 1986 they moved into Flandreau to make their home but wintered in Mesa, AZ for the preceding 27 years. Lillian has been a resident of Riverview Manor since 1987. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, U.M.W. and a life member of the Jeffersonian Extension club.

She is survived by three sons, Robert, Wallace and Richard, all of Colman; two daughters, Elaine (Eldon) Poppe, Volga; Bonnie (Roger) Davis, Ankeny, IA; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raleigh (Oct. 1986) one daughter, Betty, one grandson, three sisters, five brothers.
