Mrs. U.A. Wilson
Ursula Ann Wilson was born in Mexico, Oswego, New York, March 16, 1821, being nearly 89 years of age, and died Thursday, March 3rd. She lived in the same town until the age of 22, when she moved to the state of Alabama, Genesee county,(NY) where she remained four years and was married to David Woodbeck of that place. In 1853 they came to Michigan and located in the town of Emmet, Calhoun county. After remaining there for one year they moved to Monterey, Allegan county, in which county she resided till death.
Mr. Woodbeck died in Monterey February 2d, 1872. She was again married August 23, 1875, to Horace Wilson of Allegan, who died three years after their marriage.
Mrs. Wilson has three brothers living---one in Janesville, Wis., one in Fulton, N.Y. and one in Oregon. Four children survive her--Sarah McMartin of Grand Rapids; Hortense Sherman of Victoria, B.C; Alba of Globe, Arizona; and John D. Woodbeck of this place.
Mrs, Wilson was a saintly christian woman dearly loved by all who knew her. She was a member of the Methodist church and until poor health prevented was always present at the church services. During her last illness she suffered much, but through it all showed a christian faith and fortitude most commendable.
Funeral services was held from the home Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. H.L. Potter. Sunday morning her remains were taken to Monterey for burial."
