Ruth L. Hooks, 94, died at 9:25 p.m. Feb. 20, 1995, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born July 28, 1900, in Putnam County, to R.A. and Mary E. Baxter Doty.
On Aug. 13, 1918, she married H.D. Grismore, who died March 14, 1932. On April 18, 1959, she married Stephen A. Hooks, who died in March 1971.
Mrs. Hooks worked at the DWG Cigar Co., retiring in 1968.
She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church and the Lima Area Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a sister, Charlotte Eisenberg of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and two grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Phyllis Schumacher, and a stepdaughter, Thelma Sodders; and two brothers, Roy A. and Harry Doty.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Shawnee Chapel of Chiles and Sons-Laman Funeral Homes. The Rev. David Dayton will officiate. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
