Henry Anderson was born in Millville to Johannes and Cecelia Nilsson Anderson, he attended Millville Elementary School. In the spring of 1887, eighteen-year-old Henry and his brother, Edward, rode horseback to Cardston, Alberta, Canada, with a herd of cattle. They helped their father and his third wife get settled there, then returned to Millville to assist their mother on the farm.

On March 24, 1892, he married Martha Chandler, the daughter of Henry and Emma Hill Chandler. She was born in Millville on January 26, 1874, and she knew the hardships of early life in the pioneer village.

She was an exceptionally kind and loving woman and a faithful Relief Society visiting teacher. Martha died February 20, 1949.

Henry was a farmer, and for many years he was water master for Nibley Blacksmith Fork Irrigation Company. He enjoyed gardening and was a lover of fine horses. He was known to his family as a tender, kind-hearted man.

Henry and Martha were parents of: Verl, Ivan, Lula A. Iverson, Ellis, Clara A. Swenson Shaffer, George and Orval.
