JOHNES-KINDER

The marriage of Henry Johnes Jr., son of Henry Johnes, of Richwoods, to Miss Charlotte Kinder, daughter of Frederick Kinder at the Lutheran church in Brussels, on the morning of the 28th brought together a large number of the friends of both families.

The Rev. Mr. Schneider, pastor of the church, united the happy couple with the beautiful service of the Lutheran ritual, prefacing in an effective and well-timed address to the bride and groom, upon the duties and responsibilities of the new life they were about to enter upon.

John Kinder presided at the organ and with a march moved the newly married couple and their friends to the home of the bride's father, where a bounteous table of good things was awaiting their arrival. The feast prepared by Mrs. Kinder, assisted by her careful co-workers, lasted till the going down of the sun when the step of merry dancers took the place of the overloaded table, and with joyous innocence, mirth and revel, made the walls of the merry old homestead echo till the "wee small hours."

Among the guests we noticed the smiling face of Commissioner Bush and lady, John Ortleib and his new wife, G. Leopold and lady, August Krause and lady, Mrs. S. A. White, Wm. Flagge and lady, Mrs. Caroline Kinder, Louis Fester and lady, Henry Bush and lady, F. Rexroth and lady, Issac Miller and lady, Martin Meyer and lady, Fred Keehner and Chas. Fester and lady, Frank and Louis Wieneke and their ladies, the Misses Kinder, Miss Bush, August Franke and lady, Geo. Kinder, Albert Herrmann and lady and Joseph Becker and lady, and a host of young friends of the young couple.

May happiness and prosperity attend them through life's journey.
