 | Bradley I would love anything you have on the kress or Bradley family. My email is rlca4hamm@ gmail.com. I have been to some very remote cemeteries in Calhoun county. Are you from this area. Would love to meet and share | | | Anonymous
 | RE: George kress Katherine bradley I would love anything you have. I have one big question. Are we pretty sure that the kress cress family came over from Germany around 1840. I live in Hillsboro, Illinois and the kress cress family has a lot of history here. Their family came over in the1700's. It isn't a real common name. I would so appreciate anything you have. Thanks, Linda hamm rlca4hamm@gmail.com | | | Anonymous

 | Zigrang photos Kim,
I told you I was missing marker pictures for Charles O., Rose and Charles W. Zigrang, despite the fact that I thought I had photographed every stone at Wilson Cemetery. I finally figured out what happened. I had accidentally listed the Zigrangs in my notes as already having pictures on Find A Grave.
On Tuesday, we made a trip up to Calhoun because we wanted to take pictures at St. Barbara's and 2 other small cemeteries near Brussels. Before we left the Batchtown area, we drove out to Wilson to look for Charles O., Rose and Charles W. Zigrang's stones.
I thought they might be located on the right side near some other Zigrangs I remembered, so we walked the whole cemetery counterclockwise. Of course, their stones turned out to be in the front left--the last section we searched--but at least we found them!
The individual markers were almost completely overgrown. We did the best we could to dig away the grass that was growing over them, but that made them a bit difficult to photograph. The headstone the three of them share was in great condition.
I know the Zigrangs must have been important to you since you still have copies of their obituaries, so I wanted to let you know that we did find their markers and have now added pictures to their memorials on Find A Grave.
Thanks again for sharing the Douglass and Zigrang obits.

 | RE: Elizabeth Batchelder Kim,
I sent in a Find A Grave spreadsheet for Sitton early this morning since some people I had been looking for turned out to be listed there in my old cemetery notes.
Once the spreadsheet goes through, if you want me to transfer the Batchelder kids, just let me know. Same for Albina Lowe. However, there were no other Lowes on my list, so she's the only one I included.
Albina died in 1927 and I only saw 2 other people who were buried at Sitton more recently than that. I bet you're right about it being a cow pasture by now. There are a couple of pictures on Find A Grave for some Grigsby memorials there, but it's hard to tell from them.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with any of the other people you asked about.

 | RE: Elizabeth Batchelder Kim,
I just found Elizabeth Batchelder (dau. of Wm. & E.S.) in my cemetery book information. They have her and Infant Son Batchelder listed at Sitton Cemetery (aka Chism).
I've never been there, but I know Sitton is close to Batchtown.

 | RE: Elizabeth Batchelder Kim,
I do not own a complete copy of the Calhoun cemetery book. I have hand-copied the information for most of the cemeteries from Batchtown to Deer Plain using a copy of the book at the library. (I live out-of-state.)
I don't have any additional information for the Raney family to share with you. My mom was born in Batchtown and I have distant relatives who lived farther north than that, but my direct ancestors were much more heavily concentrated throughout southern Calhoun County. As a result, I know more about the families in Point.
Good luck with your search.

 | RE: Elizabeth Batchelder Kim,
I double checked and Elizabeth Batchelder is not listed at Wilson in my old Calhoun County cemetery book. I have the 1982 version which did a pretty good job of listing most of the people buried there before that year.
We photographed all the stones at Wilson in June. I have been trying to get them on Find A Grave and still have a few more to go. I looked through the pictures I have left twice, but found nothing for Elizabeth Batchelder.
I do have a handful of markers that are so weathered there's nothing readable left. None of those were located near William and Minnie Batchelder though, so I don't think any of my unidentified stones seems to be a likely candidate.
By the way, I did add a picture to Bertha Batchelder's memorial today. It's only a partial stone, but there's enough there to make a positive identification. It was located next to Minnie Batchelder's marker.
