The son of Friedrich W. Kinder and Caroline Fester, "Fred" had a twin sister named Helena "Lena" Kinder. (She later married Henry G. Franke.)

Fred married Anna Elizabeth "Annie Meseke" on 09 Jul 1888 in Calhoun County, Illinois. The Kinders moved to Carroll County, Missouri about 1901.

A retired farmer at the time of his very sudden death from a coronary thrombosis, Fred was 83 years and 2 months old. He was buried on 29 Apr 1944 and was survived by his wife and 5 children.

Children: 4 sons, 1 daughter.
