Cleopatria "Pate" Copeland Funeral services for Mrs. Cleopatria "Pate" Copeland, 83, of Alpine, were conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Barnhart and Rev. Allen Steele officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Copeland died Monday, Jan. 21 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a general merchandise store owner along with her husband, and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Born July 14, 1918, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Baley Fred Sr. and Arminda Louvinia (Smith) Allred. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Gentry Copeland; two sisters, Lee Hargis and Sally Brown; and two brothers, Lowell "Bud" Allred and Jonathan Allred.
Survivors include a son, Joseph Wayne Copeland, Alpine; three daughters, Peggy Wood, Judy Buford, and Carol Ashburn, all of Livingston; a brother, Dr. B.F. Allred, Jamestown; three sisters, Nawausa Hargis and Jimmie Bullock, both of Livingston, and Danise Vaughn, Alpine; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
