Born June 10, 1921, in Monroe, Union County, he was the son of the late Rufus and Winnie (Faulk) Kizer.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Josephine (Simpson) Kizer; his second wife, Martha (Simpson) Kizer; his third wife, Ruby (Love) Kizer; and two daughters, Sarah Kizer and Marsha (K.) Poplin.
He is survived by a son, Hayne Kizer and wife, Terry, of Midland; two daughters, Barbara (K.) Sherrill and husband, Donald, of Stanfield and Jenny (K.) Deese of Midland; a sister, Alma Williams of Monroe; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having fought in World War II. Mr. Kizer was a machine operator for Kerr Bleachery in Concord.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland. At other times the family will meet at his home.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, with a 30-minute state at Love's Grove United Methodist Church in Stanfield. The Rev. Richard Collins will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military rites performed at graveside by Stanly County DAV Chapter 12.
