Perry Enlisted in the 18th Regiment of the US Missouri Inf. Co "G" Oct 30th 1861 at Hannable MO. Mustered in at Laclede MO 14th of November 1861.
F aught at Island #10, Fort Donaldson & Shiloh, was sent to the hospital & went up river on a steamer to Benton Barracks in St Lewis, Mo. He served as a Dr's Assistant & Nurse for 11 Months. Perry Joined his old unit at Cornith Tenn. F aught in skirmishes in Mississippi Tennessee and Georgia. He was in the battles at Kennesaw Mountain, Ezra Church, & Atlanta in Georgia. Perry Mustered out at Chattanooga Tennessee on the 15th of November 1864.
He was the only Son of 4 to survive the war.
George died at home while on sick leave
Albert died at Nashville from a leg wound he received in the battle of Nashville.
Joel died shortly after coming home.
Perry headed West after Eliza's Died with his 4 girls to homestead in Stanton County Kansas. He later came to Indian Territory to be near his daughters.
