Mr. Davenport was born Aug. 28, 1907, in Myrtle Point, a son of Albert R. and Amy I Goble Davenport, and died Feb. 5, 1979 in Myrtle Point.

He and his wife, Hilda (Fredenburg), were married June 1, 1927, in Davenport Grove. He was a lifetime resident of the area, and his Jersey cows won numerous county and state awards. He was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Point.

Survivors include his widow, Hilda, of Myrtle Point; sons, Donald (Jean) of Myrtle Point and William Rodney Jr. (Mary) of Medford; daughter, Amy Marie (Otis) Holland of Eugene; three brothers, Elsig of Myrtle Point, J. A. of Myrtle Point, and Ernest of Silverton; sisters, Bernice Houghton of Los Gatos, Calif., Delores Larsen of Myrtle Point, Audrey Holt of Redway, Calif., Lois Jensen of Long Beach, Calif., and Lila Ocheltree of Myrtle Point; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
