About Florence's Carlstead Allen's Parents:
Florence's father was Christian Carlstead. Christian was born 3-1-1837 in Prussia (Germany) and died 11-18-1877 in Huntsville, Missouri. Christian Carlstead had one sister Ann and three brothers (names unknown).
Florence's mother was Mary (Klink) Carlstead, born 6-25-1839 in The United Kingdom of Bavaria (Germany), the daughter of Gottlieb Phillip Klink and Jacobina (Ulrich) Klink. Mary (Klink) Carlstead died on 7-17-1905.
Mary Klink came to the U.S. and lived for a while with her brother John Phillip Klink (1828-1909) and his wife Susan Elizabeth (Belsher) Klink (1837-1916) at Glasgow, Missouri after both of their parents died. Phillip took training and was a baker with his own shop. He later became a farmer. They later moved to Randolph County near Huntsville. Phillip was also a soldier, serving as a Private for the Union in the Civil War in Company C of the 46th E.M.M.
Mary Klink married Christian Carlstead on November 9, 1861. Mary and Christian lived on their farm near Huntsville, Missouri until Christian's death.
Mary and Christian Carlstead had five children:
Sarah "Sallie" (Carlstead) Burton (b 1863 or 1864)
Married John A. Burton, Jr. in May, 1872 in Delaware, IN. They lived in Missouri before settling in Minneapolis, Ward 2, Henniphen, Minnesota. John was born 1857 in KY, father born in NC, mother born in KY. Children of Sarah and John Burton:
-Beulah (Burton) Pierce (born 1883 in Huntsville, Missouri) (married Clinton E. Pierce (born 1883) Married on 12-30-1918 at Billings, Yellowstone, Montana. Clinton's father is D.C. Pierce, and mother is Mary (Lovelan) Pierce.
-Florence Burton (born 1885 in Minnesota)
-Mary Elizabeth (Burton) Crassweller (born 1888 in Minnesota, d 2-12-1926 in Duluth, St. Louis, Minnesota) Married Harold D. Crassweller.

After Christian's death, Mary continued to live on the farm and raised sheep and crops. Mary later moved to Salisbury, Missouri.
The family was known to be very pleasant, kind and unselfish. They loved books, artistic activities and helping children.
