Lewis- Died, Monday, Sept. 18, at the residence of A. M. Wick of Glenarm of old age, Larkin Lewis, aged 81 years.
Mr. Lewis was a well-known citizen of Glenarm. The funeral was held in the M. E. Church yesterday at 2 p.m., the Rev. G. W. Jones officiating. The interment was in the Cumberland cemetery, two and a half miles west of Glenarm.
The grave is unmarked. The photo is the soldier that used to stand atop the 1910 Civil War monument. There is no room on the cemetery page for a picture of him, and two of Larkin's sons, Samuel and David W. are listed on the monument. I also thought it appropriate because my grandmother, Stella F. Easley Manville, unveiled the monument after it was installed. She was a great-granddaughter of Larkin Lewis and a granddaughter of his son, Samuel Lewis. The name of her paternal grandfather, Robert H. Easley, is also listed on the monument.
