MT HERMON—Raymond Gene Alford Sr., 73, a resident of Mt. Hermon, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday [September 21] in Good Samaritan Nursing Home. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Bogue Chitto Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Natha Lee Duncan Alford of Mt. Hermon; three sons, Raymond G. Alford Jr. of Metairie, Mark A. Alford of Chalmette, and Kevin L. Alford of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Janet Lynn Alford of Baltimore, MD; a sister, Clara Mae Smith of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lorina Smith Alford; and a brother, Roy Alford.
Visitation began at 8 a.m. today at Crain Funeral Home. A chapel funeral service was to follow at 11 a.m.... Burial followed in the Smith Cemetery in Mt. Hermon.
