Mr. Calhoun was born Jan. 21, 1877, in Plumcreek Twp., a son of Samuel and Susan (Miller) Calhoun.
He resided in Gastown, where he was a carpenter and merchant for the past 30 years. He was a member of the Eldertown United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cora (Bierer) Calhoun of Elderton, a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Leila) Silvis, of Elderton, two sons, Samuel D. of Kittanning and E Beryl Calhoun of Mercer, two brothers, Harvey N. and James of Shelocta, four sisters, Mrs. Mertie Rosborough, Indiana RD 1, Mrs. Minnie Wissinger of Elderton, Mrs. Minnie Calhoun, Indiana RD 1, and Mrs. Roy (Rose) Sharp of Apollo.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Clark funeral home in Elderton from 7 to 9 tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday.
Funeral services will be held at the Clark funeral home at 3 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Orville J. Fleming, pastor of Kittanning United Presbyterian church officiating.
Burial will be made in the Elderton cemetery.
