In 1940 she and James and their four children lived in a house on Route 228 in North Buffalo Township--at least that was the road shown on the census record. In 2017 Route 228 only exists in Butler County. At any rate, they owned their home, which was valued at $600. James did odd jobs in the limestone mines, and in 1939 had an income of $50 for ten weeks of work.
