Mrs Ethel L. Carlton, age 55, died Sunday night in a hospital at Ada after a brief illness from heart ailment, but had been in failing health for some time.

She was the wife of Ed Carlton & the daughter of the late County Judge, Joe A. Edwards, & had lived in Stratford, Oklahoma since early childhood. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Rev. Fred Fisher of Sanger, Texas & Rev. Roger Hogard of Breckenridge, Texas officiating. Burial was made in the McGee cemetery, under the direction of the Winans Funeral Home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 6 sons, R.E. Carleton, of Pauls Balley, Rev W.A. Carleton of Duncan,Oklahoma, Rev J. Paul Carleton of Vandallia, Ills. & J.W., Kenneth & James Carlton, all of Stratford & 2 daughters, Mrs. Arthur Herron of Beggs, Oklahoma, & Mrs. Ray Mayberry who lives in Texas.
