Mrs. Mary Pumroy, wife of Aaron Pumroy, passed away last evening at 10:05 o'clock at the home 209 N. Academy street following a two weeks illness of gangrene. She was born near Boone Grove May 16, 1893, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Tucker. On March 2, 1904 she was united in marriage in Valparaiso to Mr. Pumroy and has been a resident of Porter County her entire life, moving to the present address from Kouts four year ago.
Surviving are the husband, Aaron Pumroy, four daughters, Mrs. Mildred Lansdowne, Mrs. Rachael Barbour, Miss Alice Pumroy and Miss Berniece Pumroy and one son Lewis Pumroy of Valparaiso, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Tucker, five brothers, Clarence, Wallace, Floyd and Ralph Tucker of Valparaiso and Russel Tucker of Las Animas, Colorado. Two grandchildren also survive as well as a large number of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Pumroy was a member of the local Christian church and affiliated with the Royal Neighbors.
Funeral services will be held from the Valparaiso Christian church with Rev. J. C. Whitt of Kouts officiating. Burial at Graceland cemetery.
