Kouts - Aaron Pumroy, 79, Kouts, died Friday night at the home of a son, E. Lewis Pumroy, in Gary, after a year's illness.
Born in Porter county Jan. 2, 1879, he was the son of Neil and Orpha (Brody) Pumroy and resided in the county most of his life.
He married Mary Tucker in Valparaiso March 2, 1904. She died in 1927.
He was a farmer and former Continental-Diamond Fibre corporation employee.
Surviving in addition to the son, E. Lewis, are three daughters, Mrs. Forrest Lansdowne of Valparaiso, Mrs. Joseph Bird of Valparaiso, and Mrs. J. J. MacHallam of North Tarrytown, N. Y.; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Mrs. Carroll Barber, died in 1952, and two brothers also preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 1:30 pm Monday in LePell Funeral home, and burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 pm Sunday until services.
