Bud Jenks, age 75, was found dead in bed at his home Wednesday evening, Aug. 17 and as no one had seen him that day, it was thought he died some time during Tuesday night. Mr. Jenks was born in Mt. Auburn, Feb 7, 1885. Was married to Nellie Sellers Sept. 2, 1915, she preceded him in death Jan 1959. They had lived in the Brandon area for many years and after Mrs. Jenks' death, he came to Mt. Auburn in March, 1959. Survivors are four daughters, Beulah, Mrs. Allen Dorman of Brandon, Lucille, Mrs. Calvin Brooks of Bunker Hill, Ill., Mrs. Marian Bagenstos of Mt. Auburn, Norma, Mrs. Marvin Phelps of La Porte City and one son Merle of Waterloo and one sister, Mrs. Chester Calkins of Mt. Auburn.
A daughter and two brothers precede him in death. Funeral services were held at the Mt. Auburn Methodist church Saturday afternoon, Aug. 20 at 2 pm with Rev. Lee Roy Collins in charge. Mrs. R. W. Hadley was soloist and Mrs.Edwin Hill was pianist for the services. Burial was in the family lot in the Mt. Auburn cemetery.
