Billy was raised in Kaufman and in the Cedarvale Community. He graduated from Kaufman High School. Billy served two tours of duty in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He lived most of his life in the Terrell area.
A brother, James Ashworth, sisters, Ora LaRoe and Pansey Ashworth, preceded Billy in death.
He is survived by his sister: Mary Sue Phillips of Wimberley and nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 12 at Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home with interment in Ashworth Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home of Kaufman.
