J.A. Ashworth, a resident of the Cedarvale Community, passed away at his home early Saturday morning. Internment was in the Ashworth Cemetery.
James Alfred Ashworth was born in Kaufman County on June 14, 1879. He was the son of Monroe and Mary Jane Crisp Ashworth, pioneer residents of this section. He lived his entire life in and near Cedarvale and Ashworth communities, where he was engaged in farming.
He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Husband to Lola Jordan in 1909 and five children were born. His wife and one daughter preceded him in death.
He is survived by: two sons, James A.Ashworth,Jr., and Billy Drue Ashworth, two daughters, Mrs.Ora LaRoc and Mrs.F.A. Phillips,Jr., nine grandchildren; one brother Monroe Ashworth;two sisters, Mrs. W.B.Wilshire and Mrs.Lula Heidle and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
