MARTIN KENTON DIED OF INJURIES
Martin J. Kenton, 74, well-known Russell resident, died at the Memorial hospital in Chariton this morning from injuries sustained in a two-car accident near Russell July 31.
Mr. Kenton was a charter member of the Charlie Clark Post 308 of the American Legion. He retired as depot agent for the C. B. & Q. at Russell seven years ago, following a stroke.
Kenton's wife, Helen, remains a patient at the hospital here. She suffered severe head cuts and lacerations in the same accident. A Corydon man, Howard Jones, 32, driver of the other car, was not seriously injured.
Funeral services for Mr. Kenton will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Russell Presbyterian church. The Rev. Vester Chance will officiate. Interment will be at the Russell cemetery. The Woodman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Immediate surivors, in addition to Mrs. Kenton, are a sister, Mrs. Ada Ashby of Russell, several nieces and nephews.
The accident occured at a county road intersection west of Russell. No charges were filed against either driver.
