Funeral services for Mrs. Gottlieb (Bertha) Kaseman, Sr. 79, were held on Saturday, Feb 18,1978, 11 A.M. at the St. Luke Lutheran church, Wishek, with Rev. G.G. Neuberger of Wishek officiating, Burial was made in the St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery.

She was born on Nov 21, 1898 to George and Dorothy (Stickle) Scharf at Wittenberg, S. Russia. She came to America as a child with her parents to a farm north of Lehr, where she grew into womanhood. She attended rural schools near Lehr. She married Gottlieb Kaseman Sr. on Dec 19, 1917 at Wishek. Following their marriage the Kasemans settlead on a farm 14-1/2 miles south of Wishek, where they farmed until moving into Wishek in 1947.

She passed away on Feb 15, 1978 at the Wishek Community Hospital after an illness of the past 5-1/2 days.

She leaves to mourn her passing; her husband, Gottlieb Sr, Wishek; 4 sons; Julius and Leopold both of Wishek, Gottlieb Jr. of Fargo and Lenis of Maple Lake MN; 2 daughters; Loraine (Mrs Ross Sargent) of Stockton, CA; Gladys (Mrs. Andrew Peterson) of New Strawn, KS; 3 sisters; Mrs. Pauline (Matt) DeVoix of Woodburn, OR; Mrs. Ida (Lawrence) Carr of Portland, OR; and Mrs. Margaret Wachs of Fond du Lac, Wis; 2 brothers; Ed and Albert Scharf, both of Wishek; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her parents, one son, 8 brothers and 2 sisters.

Pallbearers were Art, Howard, Edgar and August Kaseman, Art B. Thurn and Mike Just.

Nickisch Funeral Home of Wishek was in charge of funeral arrangements.
