DUBLIN — Corene Cecil Taylor, age 84 of Dublin passed away Saturday, March 19, 2005 at the Pulaski Nursing Home, after an illness following a stroke. Born April 9, 1920 in Oneida, Tenn. she was the daughter of the late Jerome & Cordelia Cecil. Her husband of 66 years, James Burton Taylor preceded her in death in 2003. Four brothers, one sister and a son-in-law also preceded her in death. They lived in Caretta, West Virginia for 43 years before retiring and moving to Dublin, Virginia in 1980. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing canasta, cooking and canning vegetables from their own garden. She leaves behind two loving and devoted daughters Wanda Swecker and husband Lawrence Swecker, Beltsville, MD, Phyllis Dodson and fiance Tom Martin, Palm Beach Gardens, FL; four grandchildren, Randy Swecker and wife Leslie Swecker, Mt. Airy, MD , Karen Bonnin and husband Stephen Bonnin, LaPlata, MD, Steven Dodson and wife Mary Dodson, Naples, FL, Michael Dodson and wife Precious Dodson, Palm Beach Gardens, FL. four great grandchildren Emily Swecker, Nathan Bonnin, Nicole Bonnin and Victoria Dodson; sisters, Agnes Keller, Torrance, CA, Irene Martin - Cincinnati, OH, Gladys Foster, Cincinnati, OH. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Susan Cyre officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until time of service at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski.
