NANCY UMBENHOWER

Nancy Jane Umbenhower, daughter of Tolbert and Nancy Kennedy (see note below), was born in Marion county, Iowa, April 8, 1867, and passed away at the Malone Nursing Home in Chariton, Iowa, at the age of 85 years, one month and six days.

She was united in marriage to Abraham Umbenhower Sept. 13, 1884. She was preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Bertha McMannis.

She was a member of the Methodist church at Coal Glen. When she moved to Chariton her membership was transferred to the Nazarene church, where she was an active member until ill health prevented her from attending.

She leaves to mourn her passing three children, Jess Umbenhower and Ora Nace, of Chariton and Flossie Baker of Council Bluffs. Also six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was a loving mother and was ready to go when God called her.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Church of the Nazarene, with the Rev. H. E. Hegstrom officiating. Burial was made in the Coal Glen cemetery.
