Alpha Clara McDaniel Nester Blevins, 73, of Virginia Mobile Home Court Lot #26, Dublin, died Thursday, May 27, 1993 in Radford Community Hospital.
Born Oct. 27, 1919 in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Dave McDaniel and Mazie Rickmond McDaniel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert "Shorty" Blevins, and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are three sons, Bernard Eugene Nester and Randall Mason Nester, both of Dublin, and Joseph Ernest Nester of Snowville; three sisters, Mrs. Lewis (Dorothy) Nester and Mrs. Annabelte Cobbler, both of Roanoke, and Mrs. Richard (Lucy) Smith of Greensboro, N.C.; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bower Funeral Chapel, Dublin, with Minister Eddie Callahan officiating. Burial will be in the Newbern Cemetery. Visiting will be anytime after 3 p.m. Saturday at Bower Funeral Chapel, East Main Street, Dublin, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. The family will be meeting at the home of her son, Randall Mason Nester, 5106 Sunset Drive (Rolling Hills Subdivision), Dublin, where friends may call at anytime Bower Funeral Chapel, Dublin, is in charge of arrangements.
