JOHN BATTISTELLO

John Battistello, 40, of near Pella died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa following surgery.
He was born near Centerville June 13, 1915, the son of John and Maria Pellan Battistello. He was married in Centerville November 9, 1935, to Mary Buttel, who survives. He was a member of the Catholic Church and had been a resident of Centerville, Iowa, until a few years ago when he moved to a farm near Pella.
Besides his wife he leaves two children, John, Jr., and Marilyn, and his mother, Mrs. John Battistello, and one sister, Miss Elisabeth Battistello both of near Centerville. His father died September 25, 1954.
The Johnson Funeral Home at Centerville had charge of funeral services which were held Friday, November 4, the Rosary service held Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m. The funeral service was held at St. Mary's Church at Centerville, the Rev. Eugene A. Omlor officiating. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery, Centerville.

J. Battistello Dies in Pella

John Battistello, 39, who was born in Centerville and lived here until a few years ago, and now a resident of Route 3, Pella, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 1955, at 7:30 in the Mahaska County Hospital, at Oskaloosa, following surgery.
Mr. Battistello was born in Centerville June 11, 1916, the son of John and Maria Pellan Battistello. He was married to Mary Buttel who survives him along with two children, John Jr. and Marylin Battistello.
He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Maria Battistello of Centerville Route 1, and a sister, Elizabeth Battistello. His father John senior preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 1954.
Mr. Battistello resided in Centerville until just a few years ago, when he moved to Pella to take over a farm there.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Johnson Funeral Home.
