Dorus O Bragdon 69 retired plumber died at Georgetown Memorial Hospital at 8:35 pm Tuesday after an illness of 15 months.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday at Duncan Memorial Methodist Church with the Rev CO Bell pastor and the Rev Dr CC Herbert officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

He was born April 29 1884 in Florence County. He was the son of the late John Bunyon and Mary Maria Brooks Bragdon. He came to Georgetown 50 years ago with the Atlantic Coast Lumber Corp. He was also with the DuPont Corp for a number of years. He later entered the plumbing business. He retired about five years ago.

He served as superintendent of the Sunday School at Duncan Church 13 years retiring in 1952. He was active in putting on the church's May Day Parade here for a number of years. He was a member of the board of trustees and a steward of the church.

His wife the former Annie Lela Parker died May 23 1951.

Surviving are two sons OO Bragdon and JR Bragdon of Georgetown a daughter Mrs JT Wright of Georgetown and five grandchildren and two sisters Mrs JG Smith of Mulberry Fla and Mrs JJ Peoples of Johnson City Tenn.
